The Thomas Kelly Youth Foundation was formed following the death of 18 year old Thomas Kelly, who was king hit in an unprovoked attack in Sydney’s King Cross in July 2012. Since then the Foundation’s voice has been a powerful catalyst in communicating the need for behavioural change and a push towards changing Australia’s drinking culture.
The only way real change will occur, is if the community gets together as one voice and governments make the necessary reforms to make our streets and homes safer by reducing the long-term potential harms of excessive alcohol consumption. The TKYF - through both its lobbying and Take Kare initiatives - are actively helping address this significant issue in Australia.
